Cincinnati Dormitory

Graduate studio project at UC Berkeley
(Fall 2005, Prof. David Maglaty)

The project was based on a renovation of a dormitory on the University of Cincinnati campus. My project focused on the “force fields” created in the landscape by Hargraves and Associates, the landscape architects of the redesigned campus. In my scheme, this “force field” becomes more than a conceptual idea in plan, it drives a series of interventions in the existing infrastructure.

The dormitory itself is enhanced through improved public spaces and larger student rooms, and the campus is enhanced with a new green space on top of an existing parking garage and a better pedestrian connection to the surrounding neighborhood.
