The project was based on a renovation of a dormiory at the University of Cinncinnati. My project focused on the “force fields” created in the landscape by the landscape architects (diagonal pathways that reference a historic grid), which were described as a driving force in the campus landscape re- design. In my scheme, this “force field” path becomes more than a conceptual idea, it literally becomes visible in the campus and through the dormitory building.
The dormitory itself is enhanced through improved public spaces and larger student rooms, and the campus is enhanced with a new green space on top of an existing parking garage and a better pedestrian connection to the surrounding neighborhood.
